Hey there,

I Just got back on and saw your message.  Do you have a prototype currently running?  I would be interested to see what you have going and find out how much boards would be.

Hi Saad,

Regarding your question about my fiber-coated flying wing:

I build the wing a little over three years ago, so I am a little fuzzy on the details. The reason for fiber coating is that the wings were hot-wire cut out of pink building insulating (open cell) foam. This material cuts very nicely, gives nice surfaces and is very light. On the other hand, it is also very weak and definitely requires reinforcement, that's why I  chose to coat it in fiber glass.

I am by no means in expert in fiber glass coating, so I probably did a questionable job... The whole plane weighs in at about 500g without battery, I would imagine about 150g of that might be in the fiber glass coating. But I never measured this precisely...

Hope this helps,

Marko

Hi Saad,

It flies all right, I think. This was the first flying wing I have ever flown, so I don't really have much to compare it to. I have since bought a HobbyPartz PopWing, and I think my wing actually feels more like it is flying, while the PopWing feels more like shoving a foam plank through the sky...

Here is a youtube of the maiden flight:

I still have the XFLR5 design files - I can share those with you if you are interested...
