I haven't used the 'swiss cheese' method yet but recognize the weight savings it can provide. Thank you for sharing!

My latest scratch build is on Instructables HERE. You might be interested in the motor mounting scheme used on square aluminum tubing. Steps 6 and 9 are most of the details about the tubing machining.

Hi Doug

Only got to this now, I really love your workstation, similar to my setup but mines not quite as organised or neat for that matter.  It amazes me how many tools/equipment and small items one acquires over time when building these things.  That quad looks really neat, if you can mill holes in the arms you'll see a massive decrease in weight but if you have ample power it's not really necessary.  I've sometimes made the overall craft too light and they seem to be too quirky in the air, although proper tuning could sort it out.
