  • the 'edison-less' base does NOT have the ports on the side (as mine is...no edison)

  • simon.... As I also have a FlytPOD here, I'm running ROS, OpenCV and FlytOS, basically duplicating the POD's capabilities but instead of WIFI based, will use the 915 tlelem and Ardupilot and related GCS.

right now , plans are mostly collision avoidance and optical tracking (gimbal control)

talk about convoluted.... using an Arduino Uno to read/control x6 sonic sonars (4 sides one top one bottom) the Arduino feeds the Odroid, which feeds the Pix2.  The Odroid can handle the cam directly. Using openCV for the tracking.  Next is playing with SLAM (Spatial Localization and Mapping)

  • I think they sent me the Edison version by mistake.. does the standard carrier board have the internal edison port and 2 usb ports on the side anyway?

  • Nice, Paul, what do you use the Odroid Xu4 for?

  • ...been playing with mine (on the bench) for about 1.5 weeks.... working out the differences in MP to configure the 2 like my previous 1's...figuring out the ports. Got LEDDAR working (gps2 port is SERIAL4) Frsky (via converter ckt) to Telem1, (serial1) MINOSD and 915 telem on Telem2 (SERIAL2) ... now need to get the Odroid Xu4 hooked up and talking.  HERE GPS seems pretty decent...indoors next to all the computers and electronics i'm still getting 14 satellites.

  • Just got the package in the mail this afternoon.. I made sure everything was intact and in place.. I will provide unboxing pictures and comments next week as I am in Exam week right now and have to prioritize my education... sigh   Its sexy.. that I can tell you!

  • Hello DIYdrones community, I have just ordered the new Pixhawk2 and looking forward to trying this new modern marvel. I don't have much experience with the original PH, having bought a ripoff version of poor quality and could never get it to work correctly. This time I didn't cheap out and got the 'real deal' so I'm hoping for a successful experience. I created this group to share my experience with you guys and hopefully benefit from your insights as I tryout the new version of this reputable autopilot. So come in and share your experiences!

2 GPS Setup

I am little confused about two GPS setup. 1. My main GPS is a "Here GNSS" with 8 pin connector which will go into GPS-1 Port.2. Now the 2nd GPS port on Pixhawk 2 is 7 PIN connector!Do I need a specialized GPS for the 2nd GPS? or I can order a "Here GNSS GPS" with a 7 pin connector? if yes from where?Furthermore, are there any GPS extension cables available for "Here GNSS" GPS?. The standard length is not enough for my application.Lastly, do I have to do anything special inside the Mission…

Moving from Mikrokopter to Pixhawk 2.1

Hi I am starting to build new octocopter based on Pixhawk 2.1. I have few years of experience in building and flying custom Mikrokopter copters. All advices are welcome ! What are the biggest differences between this autopilots ? I am sure that same users of this forum changed their autopilot for Pixhawk 2.1 from Mikrokopter ? I am reading the ardupilot copter docs but that can be not enough. First build will be flat octocopter for testing with MK 3638 motors, Flame 80a ESCs, 12" propellers…

Pretty big crash today. error radio-2. Large quad 40" rotors

Hello All,    Had a pretty rough go of it today. We were flying at 8-10 feet today, doing a little tuning in stabilize mode. Craft was looking more stable than it ever has. Entered forward flight, came to a stop in a hover at about 8 feet. Suddenly craft pitched back oscillated heavily for a bit, then crashed upside down. In the Log it says ERR: RADIO-2. It also FSed into land mode, which is what crashed it. Was working on PID settings to transfer to the other flight modes. I cant find any…
