Raymond Leach replied to Ryan's discussion Andropilot says Looking for Vehicle -- same radio works fine in Mission Planner in Andropilot Users Group
"Does the radio get power when you plug it into your device? If not then that could also be the issue - it needs more power than your device can supply. In that case you may need to use an external powered USB hub.

But that would probably be as much…"

Raymond Leach replied to Ryan's discussion Andropilot says Looking for Vehicle -- same radio works fine in Mission Planner in Andropilot Users Group
"Your device probably doesn't have drivers built in for that radios chip set.

Check which chip set it uses (cp210x, RFD, etc) and make sure your device has those drivers installed."

Raymond Leach replied to Joseph's discussion Power Distribution Board Question in Arducopter Y6 Owners
"Mine is labelled. The black and red wire coming out the middle of the board is labelled 'To APM' - it can be used to provide power to the APM on the input rail (with jumper JP1 installed) or to servos on the output rail by plugging it in there. Just…"

Raymond Leach replied to matemm06's discussion Firmware, Bad motor, ESC? in Arducopter Y6 Owners
"Check the PDB (Power Distribution Board). I had a dry joint on mine that caused a crash.
Latest crash - my Y6 just stopped in mid air. Still have to find time to check the logs and figure out what happened.

Upgrade to v3.2 - new features like…"

Raymond Leach replied to Amos Olson's discussion My 3DR Y6 flipped and crashed when a motor died. Isn't the Y6 (and X8) supposed to compensate in this situation? in Arducopter Y6 Owners
"I had another prop disintegrate during flight with my Y6 yesterday. Didn't even notice that half the prop was missing until I flew nearby and heard the Y6 sounding a bit rough. Only saw after landing that half the prop was missing.
It seems that…"

Raymond Leach replied to Amos Olson's discussion My 3DR Y6 flipped and crashed when a motor died. Isn't the Y6 (and X8) supposed to compensate in this situation? in Arducopter Y6 Owners
"I was just out flying my Y6 and it just happened to me... I lost the top front left prop. The Y6 did a full loop and managed to recover. I was able to bring it back to land in stabilize mode.
Looks like a bad moulding on the prop. I was able to find…"

Raymond Leach replied to Raymond Leach's discussion Unexpected slow crash
"Yes. That's all the log that was recorded.

The copter basically hovered for about a minute, then it seemed like there was no control or stabilisation and it tilted forward and right. Motors were still spinning and it tipped over when it hit the…"

Yesterday I was test flying a quadcopter with an APM 2.5 board. All seemed well and just as I was about to start flying a circuit, the quad listed to the right front slowly and it seemed like I had no control. It naturally flipped upside down just…

Raymond Leach replied to Tim Callinan's discussion I want to go higher. in Arducopter Y6 Owners
"Hi
1) To go higher, the best thing would be better antennas.Adding more power will introduce more issues with interference. The secret to good wireless signal is well paired antennas and as low power as you can get away with. We have a wireless…"
