"Hi John, those settings are slicer settings and not to do with the design. You can do that with the supplied STL files."

Ben Dellar commented on Nick Sargeant's blog post 100km+ in the X-UAV Mini Talon
"Well done PerthUAV - always good to see more of the Talon series of airframes doing well. Will this one get converted to quad-plane also or is it fly as support?

See you at the comp!"

"Thanks Steve - 1hr 40min is a long time in the air so was good to have other tasks to think through.

Regarding our config choices - we are working on the conventional basis that a bigger slower turning prop is more efficient. The theory boils down…"

Ben Dellar commented on Ben Dellar's blog post 100km in the X-UAV Talon
"Thanks Gary - the Talon really is an amazing aircraft. Perfect combination of size (fits in car fully assembled), weight, endurance, speed, handling in air is great and very versatile for different payloads and missions."

Ben Dellar commented on Ben Dellar's blog post 100km in the X-UAV Talon
"Pascal - Given it was a test air-frame focused on distance traveled (rather then long range out and back) the RC was pretty vanilla 2.4Ghz and telemetry the usual 100mw 900MHz units on a Pixhawk. For the competition we are running a dual redundant…"

Ben Dellar commented on Ben Dellar's blog post Simple set up for Turnigy 9XR (or similar) 6 position mode switching - No Hardware/Flashing Required
"From my original post the switches can be mixed with no hardware at all. Reuben is showing an alternate option with hardware modifications to allow use of different switches."

Ben Dellar replied to Glenn Hollowell's discussion Getting the Turnigy 9X transmitter to work with Pixhawk is kicking my butt... in PIXHAWK
"Hi Glen,

I have the 9XR which is similar and did a detailed DIY on 6 position switch as you are trying to. Not sure if the XR firmware is much different I used to have a 9X that broke and I recall they were pretty similar."

Ben Dellar left a comment on Outback Challenge
"At West Coast UAV we are using the companion computer with conventional RFD900s from the support aircraft to the GCS but are using 433MHz radios to relay telemetry from the support AC to retrieval. This avoids the frequency interference issues…"

"Really great to hear they are useful to people! Appreciate the feedback.

Scott - why did you modify the talon wings? What are the main flight differences you see with clipped wings?"

"No web app for our set up. We are running a combination of bash and python scripts that control the aircraft during imaging. GCS is vanilla Mission Planner."

Ben Dellar commented on Ben Dellar's blog post Finding Joe at the 2016 Medical Express Challenge
"Hi Hein, yes we are running a Raspberry Pi on the aircraft which is receiving the telemetry data and combining this with the image captured from it's camera to give us geo-referencing. It also is doing a lot of image post-processing, hosting and…"
