Hello guys,
I am a college student in California, and we have $200 of funding to build a UAV. Would my following plan work?
ArduPilot board - $25
GPS - $50
hobbyking Bixler(comes with brushless motor, and 4 9g servos) - $53
6 Channel radio system w/receiver(Hobbyking brand,2.4GHz,Mode1) - $25
Turnigy AR-20A 20A brushless esc - $9
Zippy Flightmax 800 mAh 2s1p 20c battery - $7
Total cost: $171
So will these parts work together correctly? And I don't think I need the arduShield to make a basic UAV right? Otherwise I would need a bigger budget. Thanks in advance!

So I was browsing other budget UAV threads, and a guy on this thread("waqa"), seems to have built a working UAV without the sheild. What does the shield actually do, and why do I need it? Thanks in advance.

Post a WTB add for some used original Ardupilot equipment.
And at least get a 2200mah 3s battery to have any useful flight time.
Need a arduShield or Wii and Wii plus control mod.
