A battery Question for a HExa-copter
hello, this is my first post in this great community and i like to be a part of it - at least till i get my Hexa-copter up and running :) - i want to make a hexa- copter from scratch i have looked here and there for how to make frame , witch motors i need for my payload ~ About 1kg is my initial target~ props, esc and battery!
after i finnished it i will post a step by step on how to do it cuz i searched all over to find this kind of guide and all the things i could find is just like giving you a little hint
long story short, i was wondering if i can use 2 5000 mah 25c 11.1v batteries for my hexa, i found some where that i can use a special kind of connector that is called Y-Connector but the site i found that idea from is like archived for 3 years and i cant find it anywhere .
any help please will be much appreciated on if i can actually use 2 batteries + Y-connector and make it act like one 10000 Mah Battery or this thing isnt possible ??
when i go back home i will post my first Acad diagrams for the design i have in mind.

I don't know what kind of motors you're running, but a hexa is going to draw a lot of power. I'm not sure that the 25c batteries are going to handle it, even in parallel. I run 2x35c in parallel, and I get warm batteries with a quad, running 4x18a ESCs.
Anyways here's where I ordered my y-adapter from for HXT type of battery plug. They also have others like XT.

Shouldn't be an issue, as long as both packs are charged up to nearly the same level. The adapter Ellison linked to should work, or you can make your own pretty easily.
The reason they need to be charged to the same voltage is because if one pack is lower then the other, the higher voltage pack will 'charge' it without any sort of current limit.

Oh, and to help charge it, you'll need a balance charger board. Like Rz said, you need to make sure that the two batteries at the same level when charging in parallel. If one battery is more drained than another, you won't get an even charge, since the charger cut off charging before the lower drained one finishes. You should balance charge both batteries separately before using them, and always run the batteries in parallel to ensure they drain equally.

Unfortunately, they don't make the charge board for HXT connectors, so if your battery has them you'll need to get these adapters:

thanks m8 these looks great, but i was thinking i maybe wont need to use them if i use the same battery balancer and charger on each battery separately then use the Y-connector to Connect it to the Hexa?

That's what I do. I'm flying two 5000 mAh batteries on my hex, connected with a y-conntector, but I charge them separately. Works fine.
