Hi,

I'm reasonably new to quadcopters although have been learning a lot over recent months.  I've tried a couple of takeoffs with no success and after flipping last time out, decided I had something fundamental wrong.

My problem is with the Gyros.  I'm running  APM Planner 1.1.48 and Arducopter V2.5.5 with an APM 1 board.  If I look at the raw sensor output, my gyros are all over the place.  So I've been trying to remove potential issues bit by bit and am now at the point where I have just the APM out of the quadcopter witting on the bench.  I connect my usb and go into APM planner.

I go through "terminal" and erase; reset; then into config and set mode to "+"; put in my declination; do a "level" then go to Raw Sensor display and deselect the Accelerometers so just the gyros are displaying.  They are up and down like crazy!

I'm at a point where I have no idea what's wrong.  Any and all help appreciated.

Thanks.

First, you've got an ancient Mission Planner. Please upgrade to the latest version. Second, if that doesn't fix it, you've got a hardware issue. Did you solder the board together yourself?

Thanks Chris,

I've upgraded to 1.1.91 - still no joy.  I'm right that on "status" with my APM board plugged into my PC via USB and sitting on the bench that "Pitch", "Roll", "Yaw", "verticalspeed" (and more) shouldn't be moving at all?  In raw sensor mode, i've tried capturing a csv and get all of the sensors moving range - albeit not huge e.g. 0-2 and 999-1002 etc.

I bought board from udrones already put together.

Thanks again.

Greg.

P.S. I've attached the csv
