I just ordered a new Magnometer because mine just got damaged that is what I think. I uploaded the ACM 2.024 thru anduino because I' m having problem connecting to the Planner. The issue is that when I use command compass in the setup I just get is zeroes. But when I upload com Ap-compass test the Magnetometer is working. Any advice in this issue will be deeply appreciated.
In the Code I commented #define MAG_ORIENTATION AP_COMPASS_COMPONENTS_DOWN_PINS_FORWARD as my magnetometer is solder to the APM.

So you're unable to upload firmware with the Planner? You don't have to Connect to it first to upload the firmware.
I've never tried with XP, but it works fine with Windows 7. You might want to try another PC.
Permalink Reply by Jose Jimenez on June 20, 2011 at 8:55am Thanks Chris. Apart from that, can you tell me if the data that I posted from my magnetometer is ok. Sometime I get some number from the hearing340 XYZ 230, 81, 531 XY OFF: 0.00.00.0.00
Mag offsets is always zeroes. espeacially when I use the terminal in the planner. Library AP-compass test shows Mag working fine but with the code doesn't shows the same.
Permalink Reply by Feri Ametia Pratama on September 7, 2011 at 3:49pm I've got the same problem with Jose, the APM keep showing the same error message when i tried uploading the firmware
"Check port settings or port in use? System. Exception:Upload failed. Lost Sync......"
At first it was all good, i've got no error message, but suddenly after i did some simulation with X-Plane, when i tried reloading the firmware the error message keep showing.
What do you guys think might be the problem?
Thanks
