Mediatek GPS with Battery like ArdupiratesNG
HI,
I noticed, that my gps needs a lot of time to get a fix, even if power is switched off only for some seconds or two while changing battery.
So looking for a solution I found one on the ArduPiratesNG page:

Hi all,
Yes I concur this will work. I was a bit apprehensive on why there's a need to cut the pcb trace but it appears to work as without the battery I can only get a lock on after more than 10 secs but with the battery mod, lock on is about one sec. If you move to a new location, initial lock on can sometimes take more than a minute. Soldering is however very delicate, so be careful.
