Problem calibrating ESEs

I am at the point in my build were I need to calibrate my ESCs and I get to the part in red (below) in the directions where I am restarting the APM but I do not hear the 2 beeps indicated. I did bind the receiver and that seemed to go correctly. Not sure how to troubleshoot. Any advice?

Disconnect USB and battery, the entire system must not have power

Turn your radio on and put the radio throttle stick at maximum, then connect the Lipo to power the APM, radio receiver and ESC's, you will hear one short musical tone from the ESC's (NO two beeps after the short musical tone - if you get two beeps after the short musical tone it's probable that your throttle needs to be reversed)

When the APM boots, the ABC LED's will cycle slowly and continuously
So now, leave the throttle stick at full, disconnect the Lipo and reconnect it again to reboot the APM and power the system. The APM will now pass the radio signal directly to the ESCs, triggering calibration. The ABC LED's will cycle quickly - You will hear the short musical note and then 2 beeps. After the two beeps there is a pause, during this pause drop the throttle to full down. You should hear confirmation/arming beeps.

Move the throttle up a little to confirm all ESCs are armed and the motors are working in sync.
Unplug the battery again and then reconnect. Now arm the APM with right rudder for 4 secs, release rudder and all your motors should spin if given a little throttle.
Your ESC's are now calibrated. No further action is required

The Auto ESC calibration is simply a full passthrough to the ESCs. If you power up the throttle while in this mode you'll send the same PWM signal to all ESCs. That's all it does. The cheap ESCs we fly with use full throttle at startup to enter programming mode. If you pull the throttle down after the beeps below the min threshold defined by your ESCs, it will calibrate and save. Please see your ESC's since they don't sound like Plush ESCs.

It depends on what kind of ESC you have. Not all will generate the beeps. Did you hear anything?
