Problem with SD card or software?

I cant seem to get logs off my APM2.

Every time it starts, it says "ERASE LOGS". in the logs menu and on mission planner is says "no logs". It does this whether I have no SD card, the 3DR SD card or a working SD card (2GB) from a camera. Always, "erasing logs" on startup and "no logs" in the logs menu.

The SD card itself (the purple 32GB 3drobotics SD card) is not readable on a computer, it does not even register on the USB SD reader. Is that normal or do I have a defective SD card?

Not sure if this is a log problem (software), the APM2 SD card reader (hardware), my SD card(s), or my own stupidity.

Thanks for any help!

The card in the apm2 is not an sd card, it just looks like one... I think it is called a flash card or something? it runs a different type of file system so not compatible with SD..

Thanks Dean!

Ok, that explains why I can't read it on a laptop.

Still not sure why I can't read any logs or why the APM can't see the dataflash card at all.

hm perhaps it is defective, or I didn't assemble the board well. The card reader is on the "upper deck", so maybe one of the risers is not well soldered. The GPS works, though.

Only had an Ardupilot for two days, so just starting to learn about all of it, but I am having problems with log files also, I can read the card but logs are only made everytime I plug into the laptop so not a flight log just what it was doing whilst plugged into the laptop, so not much use to me.. Also when I click download logs or test under the terminal tab in mission planner it prints off lots of random characters and symbals instead of readable info?

Can´t read them either and also got that erasing isue. Furthermore my board is somehow locked when the dataflashcard is inserted...

I can read them now, what version of mission planner are you using?

I´m running on 1.173

What did you do in order to be able to read your logfiles?
