Yes you can use them at the same time. Just add a "splitter" or Y-Cable like here for the APM1 (The TX Port of the OSD is not conected to the APM just leave it, it just needs to get the data from the APM so the RX of the OSD must be connected to the TX of the APM same for ground and voltage):

And there is no restriction, telemtrie and OSD do work at the same time.

I used a Y splitter with RX, VCC, GND to minim and exactly the same to my xBee, the just ran an extra wire from the APM TX pin (on telem port) straight to the TX on the xBee.

I have a apm 2.5 so that splitter won't work... Is there a cable or splitter I could purchase?

There is another option, I added 3 pins to UART0 (TX0, +5v and Gnd) on the side of the apm 2.5 (between Reset button and GPS in), you need to cut a hole in the case for the pins and servo cable.  Use a female - female servo cable to link to the minimOSD (Gnd, +5v and Rx)
