I was wanting to load the original pid settings for the 3dr quad,  Is there a default button in the mission planner that I am missing?

To restore the default setting you can do a "reset" from the CLI. http://code.google.com/p/arducopter/wiki/AC2CLI

Nope.  I usually just load the new firmware, calibrate everything set all my HW and compass declination, and save it as default file, so that I can reload it later.

You go to the Configuration tab in the mission planner and then click Load at the bottom.  From there point to the 3DR param file you should have already downloaded from the Arducoter downloads page off of the wiki site.

Thank you guys.  No matter the input I learn alot from everybody.

Which settings are loaded when you download the firmware?  Those are the ones I have been flying on and it hasn't been too bad.

If all you do is upgrade your firmware, your settings are retained as long as the developers have not put a special directive in code to wipe the board.

Well I mean before you ever start flying.  If you uploaded 2.5.3 to your quad.  Which pid settings are there?  I never loaded any for the 3DR.  So I was going off of what was there when you loaded it.

I am fairly sure the 3DR frame settings are the default when loading the firmware. But, if it ain't broke, don't fix it! ;-)

Well the Setting I had before it still has altitude problem in Alt_hold.  This time instead of it going almost all the way to the ground, it keeps getting higher and higher.  When is starts dropping its like it catches itselft and then it goes a little higher.  Then it will drop a little and then it goes a little higher.  I think I am going to try the Settings off of the Wiki and see what happens.

To those who helped.  I tried the settings from the wiki for the quad and it was awesome.  One little issue was the Alt_Hold is alot better and more stable.  It would drop about 2 feet and then it would shot up and  It wasn't horrible but I think that that could be a little easier transition.   Also was going to try the failsafe but i chickened out.  I shut the radio off and it shot straight in the air like it was supposed to but I was chicken and couldn't try it.  It was a very succesful day.
