Terminal problems in Mission Planner

1. Why do I get the bad characters? Is there a terminal setup problem? Do I need to setup the terminal type e.g. vt100 and so on like the old days?

2. Also the 'MOTORS' hangs and does nothing in 'setup'. I was using this to check my motors since I can get off the ground now but I am flipping to one side. So the trouble shooting manual was instructing to use the MOTORS option in SETUP to see the motor configurations. but nothing happens when I use it.

Symbols you got are standard commands of MAVLink protocol. It's because you used terminal in Flight mode instead of CLI mode. You need to switch the board to CLI mode (by toggling the switcher). You can find more info here.

Season Two of the Trust Time Trial (T3) Contest has now begun. The fourth round is an accuracy round for multicopters, which requires contestants to fly a cube. The deadline is April 14th.
