Sweet! Is this laser cut?

Can you share the DXF, I love the design!

Andreas,

Wow, you're fast, I didn't know it had uploaded yet! I have not cut it yet, but I will be cutting these on the laser. I am also entertaining the idea of waterjet cutting a version from G10/FR4. As you can see the plans are not yet finished, motor mounts and landing legs are not designed yet. Hoping to cut Thursday!!!

No DXF files yet, still all PRT files, after designing the final parts, I go to dxf, then create G-code. Your profile shows your are in CA, if you would like I can mail/cut you out a set of parts once I've test fit them.

Thanks,

Sam

I like it a lot! Loves the organic look of it.

Let me know when it's done, I would not mind giving this a test flight. I could provide inputs on it and maybe carry version 7 in the store!

Most user request is for folding arms... just saying!

I'll get back to focusing on it more. I did get some .298" round tube in stock just the other day. I plan on moving the design to round tube for cost and durability. The current design was meant to use the 10mm square tube from a GWS slow stick. While it is fairly stiff and cheap, it cannot handle and rough stuff. Been too difficult to find in any quantity either.

Folding arms may present something of a challenge on this model. At least if I go to round tubes, easy enough with square. If I stick with square I'll want to ship with carbon 10mm as I know I can source this. Adds more cost, and shatters more easily.

It is not very large, might be worth noting that it is intended for 8" props and 2200mAh or less battery. I know a lot of guys on DIY are flying much larger/heavier setups. This would be for a less expensive, more sporting setup, targeting 1lb AUW.

Dany,

After playing around with the design to get folding legs, I have basically started over. Ohh, and this version is going to be G10/FR4. Decided to move the whole thing forward to allow the battery to be near CG.

Looking for some info on FPV requirements... Beyond the camera platform, what is required? Basically, how much space will be required and for what. My intention is to rework the Rx area for the camera (with an optional single axis control) which should be easy enough.
