"  Not sure about this. Yes it would be beneficial to have a faster processor, but it is often simpler and more efficient to have two processors, one for high priority realtime simple tasks, the other for more complex and low priority…"

"I agree with you. Even without RTOS I think an ATMEGA cannot run the arducicopter code fast enought. They should change to another MCU first."

One Doubt about ArduCopter

Our idea is to keep the Arduino processor as interface with the sensors and actuators currently on the board. In addition, we are thinking adding complex sensors and processing (ultrasound or laser sensors and input CMOS camera). Our target is to build a navigation system as autonomous as possible with object avoidance capabilities.
