Everything used to work fine, but suddenly the APM does not longer get powered by the ESCs on the output rail.If I connect power to the input rail or USB the APM still works (but shuts down once I…Continue

Xbee Issues

I'm sorry this is going to be a rant with few specifics about the my Xbee issues. The new 3DR radio is on order but it would be lovely if the $$$ Xbee investment would actually be worth it too. Any…Continue

APM enhances Father's day

In FBW mode, the APM turns almost any plane into a perfect trainer. My two older daughters (9 and 7) were able to confidently circle over the Berkeley marina. Despite the 10-15 knot winds the Bixler2 behaved very docile and controllable. I had them completely ignore throttle and only focus only on the aileron.I was amazed on how…See More

Drone shot down by police

While filming the protests at Taksim Square, Istanbul Turkey, a DJI Phantom is brought down by police. I'm surprised that he managed to keep the footage. Many people arrested at the protests report having their memory card wiped.

Yes I made that headline as sensationalistic as possible…

Drone vs. Drone

See what happens if two APM powered quads get too close to each other.

The innocent ArcticCoper was in loiter, the TBS Discovery was in stabilized trying to get close up. Slow motion footage shows how one motor of the AcrticCopter completely stops after hitting the TBS Discovery quad. The damaged propeller then drags one arm down of the TBS…

Andreas - I was hoping you could help me with a question I have on my DIY Oak Frame. I read in another thread about the importance of the motors being "equidistance" from eachother. In other words, the frame needs to be sqaure (Arms at 90 degrees from eachotherin a Quad setup). My frame is not perfect. It slightly more rectangular, measuring 16.5" on the long edge and 16.0" on the shorter edge. Have you ever encountered this as a problem with your quadrocopter designs? I read that you would have to adjust the Pitch(?) and Roll(?)?

By the way, I changed my screen name to Acorn in case you didn't recognize me.

I hope to hear from you,

Joe Mulledy
