DIY Antenna Tracker

Hi everybody,I've been developing on an Antenna Tracker based around my Ardupilot Mega V1 for the last few months and am just about to start on Mk 2.The tracker is  able to rotate continuosuly in azimuth. I wanted this feature so the tracker can be used for close range flying with low power transmitters. The telemetry on the prototype is acquired from the Ardupilot using Mavlink in exactly the same way as done by Minimosd. Hopefully will also be compatible with PX4 too. The data is then sent…See More

"Flying foamies is always fun, especially if you havent got a workbench and you can use it to test your rig for the glider project. As for the project itself, why not set a  goal for the parameters. For exampleI am looking to optimise a single…"

"Andy.  Thanks for the interest in my glider project. I have been mostly working in the theoretical world with various configurations of the design.  I started in X-plane beginning with a simple swept wing before discovering forward…"

"  It would certainly be interesting to get a second opinion on the aerodynamic design, so if you have any thoughts let me know! I spent some time on it and started to get more and more drawn in to the process, but at some point I decided that…"

"Hi Andy.  Thanks for the data.  I'll plug it into XFLR5 and have a bit of a play around to compare it to what I have been doing in my (so far) theoretical studies. As far as practical airframe performance testing, have a read of this…"

"Interesting stuff Andy.  How well does the real thing correlate with your XFLR5 simulations, especially the predicted  CoG position etc? What static margin did you run with and what aerofoil section did you wind up using? Apologies for all…"

Andy Little replied to Andy Little's discussion My Flying Wing Tensor V2
"There are two versions so far. I kept to the same planform for both, but changed the wing sections and twist. V2 is much heavier than V1 at around 1400 g ready to fly, while V1 was only around 900 g. V2 airframe was heavier, but also has more stuff…"

"Nice work Andy! Can you share any specs on the airframe?  Wingspan, aerofoil section, construction, pictures etc? How did you arrive at your design and what analysis tools did you use to arrive at the final version?"
