Charles C Spencer III replied to Simon L.'s discussion Fake Pixhawk 2.4.8 from Bangood - not working as expected in the group PIXHAWK
"  Most problems are not from the units build, they are from bad counterfeit chips or maybe mpu6000's may be sold as bad from the factory? "

Charles C Spencer III replied to Simon L.'s discussion Fake Pixhawk 2.4.8 from Bangood - not working as expected in the group PIXHAWK
"2.4.8 is someone's upgrade of the current unit and unauthorized... However, I believe the artificial upgrade was to fix an issue or to upgrade the voltage rail... "

"Wouldn't be just for you... Heater code and cooling code has always been planned. The whole point of this being an open project is to ensure that features like this become available to everyone."

"Is there already programming out there for the Arduino thermal switch to be used independently as a thermostat, or alternative like you mentioned? either way, as long as it is separate from the ph, ph2's then that will be great. Do…"

Hugues replied to Charles C Spencer III's discussion Using an a/c to a pelican container housing the PH2. in the group Pixhawk 2 User Group
"Maybe because it would require modifying the Ardupilot code and that is no easy task and probably overkill for the objective. Maybe in the future a Pixhawk V3 architecture would provide a "companion computer" to easily develop and…"

Hugues replied to Charles C Spencer III's discussion Using an a/c to a pelican container housing the PH2. in the group Pixhawk 2 User Group
"Then if you want to get it really fancy, you could use a small arduino type board in place of your thermal switch so you can program a PID loop to keep the temperature on a predefined value, in order to avoid temp oscillations (which could cause…"

"This wouldn't need to be highly accurate, as the onboard heater is... This would just keep the ambient temp down to give the heater a chance. Ideally you would keep the case at 50 degrees or less, and let the heater get it right."

Charles C Spencer III replied to Charles C Spencer III's discussion Using an a/c to a pelican container housing the PH2. in the group Pixhawk 2 User Group
"  I decided to go the route mentioned-that is if someone writes the code. It will be battery to peltier to pwm switch back to battery. On the other side of the pwm switch is the pwm leads that I will attach to the ph 2. The reason I…"

SkyRover replied to Charles C Spencer III's discussion Using an a/c to a pelican container housing the PH2. in the group Pixhawk 2 User Group
"Something like this: http://tinyurl.com/zj69pas. Amazon has tons of options and temp ranges. I don't think voltage will be a problem, 6A may be a bit high for some, but worst case if you can't find one that handles it adding a simple…"
