Trouble with setting up XPlane HIL on Arduplane for custom Aircraft

Started Feb 2 0 Replies

Hi Everybody.  I'm having some issues with my HIL setup with XPlane.  I am using the APM 2, and it works fine running the ArduPlane 2.68 code and flying a PT-60 Airplane in X-Plane.  I'm trying to…Continue

"Absolutely first class work. Are you continuing with development: especially with dedicated SBC? And it seems like a short hop to "SLAM"? Really hope you continue with this, it is really valuable to us all."

ROS, APM and the Kinect

All - I thought I would post on here about the project I recently finished.  This was a project for my university.  The goal for this project was to do some form of tracking with the kinect using ROS and send output commands to the APM via MAVLink.  I used the roscopter package from Yogesh and expanded upon it pretty heavily.  I also made it able to work with the ArduPlane software as well. You can watch a video demo here:…See More

"Randy - You are exactly right!  Thanks! I set g.rc_3.channel_in to 100 and I change the set_throttle_out to range from 0 - 1000 and can watch it on my scope and on a servo. You da man."

APM, Robot Operating System (ROS) and the Kinect

Hi all - I just wanted to talk about a project I've been working on for school lately.  I am interfacing ROS with the APM and a Kinect Sensor (over MAVLink) to provide target tracking and attitude settings to the APM.  Here is a video of this working: The wiki and all code for this project can be found here:  https://code.google.com/p/icarus-uav-system/wiki/ROS_APM_KINECTSee More

Hi Everybody.  I'm having some issues with my HIL setup with XPlane.  I am using the APM 2, and it works fine running the ArduPlane 2.68 code and flying a PT-60 Airplane in X-Plane.  I'm trying to test out a custom aircraft with tilting rotors, which for now I just want to control with the Trigger control on an XBox-360 Controller.  I assume I have to change the line in GCS_Mavlink to:mavlink_msg_rc_channels_scaled_send( chan, millis(), 0, // port 0 10000 * g.channel_roll.norm_output(), 10000 *…See More

ROS, APM and the Kinect

Posted on May 20, 2013 at 10:00pm 5 Comments

For a University Robotics class I completed a project that integrates ROS (Fuerte), an APM and a Kinect Sensor.

For some reason all the text that I had written was lost when I posted this.  I didn't really say anything besides what I didn't already say here:  …
