Hi John, the launcher you are referring to was bungee powered and had a carriage that slid along the rail.  This worked ok, but required two people to cock or uncock and the carriage would slam the end of the rail and rock the whole thing quite a bit.  In the mean time we've come up with a completely different design that is still compact (about 6' long) but eliminates the carriage and is "recoiless".  It's a lot safer, lighter, and can be easily cocked or uncocked by one person standing well clear of the business end.  It does require installation of a tow hook on the aircraft. Happy to answer other questions of you have any.
