Marc Dornan commented on Chris Anderson's blog post More powerful Pixhawk 3 coming soon
"The reality is that PX4 is a rival in what is smallish commercial space inhabited by Ardupilot as well. I would not kid yourself that this naming decision was very much taken with the encouragement of Dronecode and not just by Drotek. The best thing…"

Marc Dornan commented on Chris Anderson's blog post More powerful Pixhawk 3 coming soon
"Agreed. I think Drotek should not pursue that line in their marketing pitch. They will make no friends. It is a small enough field of people making original designs of open source FCs that it makes no sense to be disparaging each other. Pix 2.1…"

"Just want to point out that 217 is not unreasonable for a flight controller that is not from Banggood. I think The Cube is technically more advanced but it is good to have alternatives."

Marc Dornan commented on Chris Anderson's blog post More powerful Pixhawk 3 coming soon
"What is a pity is that Pix 2.1 was arrived at by some serious effort and it seems superior to Pix 3. Why not build on it?"

"It is good to have options. But the Pixhawk name is pretty meaningless now."

"1.2 GB for 20 minutes? Ouch -- that could get expensive very quickly. Def. need the ability to dynamically control bitrate from GCS."

"You may be correct. At 299 just to have a mavlink friendly no-fiddle solution it is probably not a bad deal. I would like to be able to use multiple cameras and switch them though. Lighter enclosures would also be needed."

"I mean cameras are often noisy. Is there any way to get analog video out of you box? Or can you feed other cameras in?"

"@skydrone. What kind of camera are you using? The camera in its metal case is 100g almost. I am sure most of that is the pressed steel case. I bet that camera is noisy though. Can you not find one with an aluminum case? Can this camera also feed a…"

Marc Dornan replied to Clive Milton's discussion DJI After Sales Service and Tech Support Issues
"The only thing that I would say is that you generally do not need DJI cust service! Or that has been my experience with 3 recent DJI machines. I really did not think much of anything DJI pre-Phantom 3. I would not hold your breath...."

Marc Dornan commented on Bob Morley's blog post More progress...
"Great stuff! I do agree with Jean though -- a tri generally just adds complexity and mechanical unreliability for questionable weight savings. But your design will be easy to adapt to a quad if you need to change it. Please post your progress…"

Marc Dornan replied to Mike's discussion breaking into copter autopilot programming
"You do not need to spend $1000. Ardupilot, iNav etc are all open source and posted on Github. Hardware is quite inexpensive as well. Just get stuck in."
