Pixhawk Power module mod to sense 120A

Started this discussion. Last reply by Para May 18. 2 Replies

Without going to Attopilot and making custom cables is this a sound way to keep using my Pixhawk power module. I'm consistently going beyond the 60A max sensing. Could this be a solution ?Please see…Continue

Auto Tune on Large Octo

Auto tune worked great, much better than I expected. The only side effect is the difference in stick movements afterwards between stab mode and loiter/positionOtherwise pretty much perfectContinue

SD Card Failure

I was out tonight with the big Octo, it was a really calm evening so I tried autotune. All went exactly as expected and I landed, disarmed, refreshed telemetry - all the new values looked go so flew…Continue

APM2.5 V3 no longer flying Octocopters

Started this discussion. Last reply by Mark Slater Oct 11, 2013. 4 Replies

I'm led to believe that V3.01 on an APM2.5 cannot fly octocopters in anything other than Stabalise/Alt Hold modes due to overload on the processor bringing the 50Hz loop down to around 5Hz.1. Is this…Continue

"Ok thats a real good reply, the only thing I'd say here is leave a little extra distance on your first build - you are bound to want to try out 12" props. An old friend of mine once said there should be at lease half a prop distance…"

"Yep I found this - yet it feels sluggish in loiter - right ? I countered by programming rates in the TX against the different flight modes - down to about 50% in Stab and upped it a bit in loiter to around 110%"

"Its fairly normal, try to get of the ground a little quicker after arming and you'll probably see less movement on takeoff. ESC's are calibrated I hope"

"no, that would need the two packs to have exacly same change, and discharge profile. Mpt realistic over time. It would "work" - but precision would be bad. you could even register negative current when pack to the left had a little higher…"

"Yes mine overheat on the octo, had 4 flights and each time they reduced power as the ESC hit 100degrees. I was running 4S on a heavy lift (Hovering at about 70amps) thats only about 9 amps per motor but I'm taking them off. Do you want them…"

"Its an optical illusion, something obscured the LEDS. There are two strips down the booms - White - Front. Red = Back plus a double row of reds on the rear of the machine on the Anti Vibe plate. "

"Ok, for a start the Imax is at 500 - for some reason mine shows 500 as well, I'm not sure this is a result of auto tune though. I have a friend with a similar problem. Auto tune went well but it now just rolls on take off. In his case the auto…"

"Yes, I'll put the camera on now I trust it a little more. That default Imax does seem strange, i noticed it when I was first setting up - I'm hoping its an error in MP, certainly seems to fly straight so I'm a bit loathed to change…"
