Tethered - but flying ... the story of an APM 2.5 on a stock F450 quad frame

Here's a video, of my stock DJI F450 frame quad tethered to a plywood slab in my basement - where I'm learning to fly in different orientations in stab mode.  Tether saves me from heavy fingers while learning, simply too much blizzard outdoors to fly there these days,

The tether was nylon string attached to bottom of quad.  I'm tuning the stock APM…

It Flies!

Today I maidened my 3DR hexa-B with sonar. In my basement. It was snowing outside. Like crazy. Took it up about 2 feet. Moved it around a bit Set it down. And gasped for joy. Nice stuff. It has APM 2.5, v2.81 SW, ublox GPS, and sonar. Roll was fine but pitch was a bit twitchy - will be tuning before anymore…
