"Absolutely. Stick a rocket on a barn door and it'll fly for too. The engineering comes in when one tries to optimize the design to make it work well and efficiently."

Newbie asking for some Pixhawk help!

Hi everyone,I've been flying with a Pixhawk for a little while and probably getting away with the minimum amount of knowledge required to make it work.#After a recent crash (which involved the Pixhawk) due to a lack of elevator authority (see the DIY drones discussion here: …See More

Hi guys,I'm currently designing a kind of motor glider (ish) and am planning on using a v-tail.I wanted to ask your opinion on the sizing of the tail that I've come up with and I'll run through some figures that I've used. Here's some useful numbers:Wing area (Sw) = 6000 cm2Wing span (b) = 200cmDistance from tail Aerodynamic Centre to aircraft Centre of Gravity (L(h/v)) = 62cmMean Aerodynamic Chord = 30cmFrom Mark Drela's post on the Charles River RC website (…See More

Hi Tom

The basic info is in my blog post there. For endurance flight, the key components is the Li Ion battery. Just drop me a line should you need further info.
