Stunning work from our ground-based brethren

Nothing to do with UAVs, but we're all roboticists, so I thought you'd enjoy this. Simply amazing locomotion.

It's absolutely scary how lifelike it is. I didn't quite catch how it knows the exact features of the ground, presumably an external camera. In any case, quite a step up from aibo.

This looks very much like a smaller adaptation to the Big Dog project. So organic looking in it's motion control. When I first saw the video of Big Dog slipping on the ice, scramble to get back up, change directions and carry on, well it made the hair on the back of my neck rise. A little scary, the approach of Judgment Day may be near at hand. (I really do hope that was a joke)
