Its been a while so lets try again. Had a hangout with Chris and we briefly spoke about the next T3 round. Chris will work on a top prize ;-)

The mission is simple, get airborne climb to 20m

Fly a cube with 50m sides, pausing for one minute at each corner, so your flight time cannot be anything less than 8 minutes..... Bonus points if you can stay longer at each corner....

The neatest cube KML wins.

If you can do this with a 3D aircraft I feel you would have a very strong chance of winning!

I will close the competition on April the 14th. I will be looking at where you are flying very closely. Please don't try this in public places or within 500m of any building / road.

Hmm, not within 500m of buildings or a road?  In densely populated Belgium I think the only place I'll satisfy that requirement is in the forest in "de ardennen" :-)

My rc club is next to a road, so I can't even do it there ?  Terrain DiestModelClub

I'm 5 or 10 minutes into this  infomercial & still haven't come to the thread topic. How far ahead do I need to skip for that? Gary, are you are 3DRobotics employee?

Hey Gary it is a formidable challenge First time I Have seen "The Cube"  Is there a vertical assent and decent in each of the corners ?can it be flown Manual? or does the pattern have to be flown by an AMP? have a Good Day!

@u4eake if its an RC club I will make an exception. @J its at the end and no. @Carl well you could try hand fly it and I would consider awarding more points for that but creating a cube would be very tricky me thinks. @Mohammed thanks.

Cool!

I was going to ask about the 500m thing.  A bit strict IMO, but as long as we have a flying club exception that's cool.  My club is probably within 500m of the road, and another building.

Question: I haven't done any precision waypoint plotting in MP.  Any tips on how yo plot this 50m cube?

Great sounding contest,

I'd appreciate actual definition of flying cube though it sounds like you only want the corners covered, not necessarily all of the vertical and horizontal edges.

Showing something like actual expected (ideal) flight path could help a lot.

One other thought, this time of year allowing only 1 month seems a bit light, a lot of us could get pushed out simply because of bad weather.

Sounds great in any case.

Ok, lets meet in the middle and add two weeks, 14th of April will amend the date above.

As for the flight path. The neatest cube will probably win so flying across the diagonals is probably not the best plan.

Gary, I think the question is, do we need to do 4 vertical legs?  Or can we fly the 4 points on one level, and then move up and 4 points on the second level and land?  or do we need to show all 4 vertical legs?

Dany, psh!  I flew last night at my house in -9C.  But I'll need to fire up the Land Rover to get in to the flying field!
