Second flight of my Bixler. Things got a bit out of hand when I went into RTL mode.

The problem with RTL looks like a reversed elevator servo.setting. I swear I checked this, but I must have gotten confused when I tested it.

Always test stabilize mode before take off and watch the controls.
Bank the Bixler and the aileron should move in order to level the plane.  Pitch down and the elevator should postition to climb ...I'm sure you got the idea. And watch the rudder too. Just a friendly advise.  Only after taking off and getting save altitude in manual mode verify modes. Do Stabilize first! and only if stabilize is successfull do RTL and others next.

Nice video thanks for sharing.

A firmware update moved my modes around and I didn't change them until the 3rd flight (as lame as that reason is).

In a way trying RTL was best; I wasn't confident that it would work so I was ready to flip it back immediately.

When I tried stabilize on a subsequent flight I left it on longer and the results were even more exciting.

I actually don't have a lot of hours flying real life RC planes, but I was able to pull out of most of the dives  and stalls without too much trouble--probably thanks to quite a bit of time on simulators.

The sprinklers weren't an ideal situation, but this week is my best chance to get some flying in.  This was my third attempt at that field and this was the first time there wasn't too much wind or a bunch of people playing lacrosse.

One question Eric;  I had a lot of trouble on take-off, probably because I wasn't throwing hard enough.  How hard should I be throwing?
