Question about confusing Datasheet: TB6552FL

I've trying to find some motor controllers for my UAV blimp and I ran across the TB6552FL by Toshiba(Datasheet @: http://www.semicon.toshiba.co.jp/docs/datasheet/en/LinearIC/TB6552F...)

I'm working on a Eagle library for this component so I can design my schematic around it but I've ran into a confusing area in the datasheet. On page 2 is clearly lists the pins in the following order: 1-GND, 2-AIN1, 3-AIN2, 4-APWM, 5ASTBY, 6VM, 7AO1, 8AO2, etc

My only problem with this is that on page 10 is shows the chip with pin 8 on the "bottom" of the chip but when I refer back to the guide on page 2 that pin should be 9 and the pin labeled 9 should be pin 6. What should I do?

I hope I've been clear enough.. if I havn't I'll post a video.

that drawning in page 2 is a "block diagram" not a pin out pay no attention to where they have the "pins" on a block diagram it is just to show you the fuctionality not to show you the physical location of the pin.

An easier part to interface is the Fairchild FAN8200 - it's 14-pin DIP rather than surface mount, runs 3.3V logic, is rated at 1A per channel, and only requires 2 control signals per channel. That's what I use on YARB 1.0. The Fairchild part has been discontinued, but you can still find some here -

Sorry for the double post. What CAD Software did you use for your board? I'm using Eagle and it doesn't have the Sayno or the Fairchild and that's really annoying :(

I use Eagle. For the FAN8200, just look in the library for a 14-pin DIP.

Look at bfin-radiomotor-v2 or bfin-motor-v2 to see how the part is used. The FAN8200 is a very nice chip, so I was really sorry to hear that it was discontinued, but there are distributors who stockpiled some quantity, and the Sanyo looks to be equivalent.
