We're looking to purchase a 3D Robotics drone to film a canoeist competing in the Duzi river marathon. We'd like to purchase an IRIS or Y6 drone, install a gimbal, a GoPro and send it chasing the canoeist down the river. The most important factor for us is endurance. Can you recommend which system will give me the greatest endurance. Can you offer an endurance estimate? I like the idea of the Y6 as the Go-Pro will have less propellers in the view.

You wont get more than 10-12 minutes and thats a better land now scenario and with excellent throttle management not zipping all over.... So I would plan more on 8-10 max. And of course if something goes wrong or you do something silly down she goes and you will have to go fishing. Just saying.. You could modify and put some foam type floats on the machine of your choice just for the added safety margins so you don't loose your gear at the bottom of a river. You are definatly better off with the Y6 its a better platform from the top down and more prosumer in my eyes. And will handle bigger batteries and the go pro / gimbal easy.
