Adding a strobe to Y6 for detection.

Has anyone added a strobe light to a Y6 for detection purposes? If so I would like some pointers on how it can be done and the best place to find them. I am flying in remote areas, not close to airports of course, but agricultural areas where there may be crop dusters nearby.I would like to do all I can to keep things safe for them and my helicopter. Also they are not required by the FAA to have sonar systems on their planes. Thanks in advance for any help!

  • That looks like it would work great thanks for the info and quick reply.

I have a question though, I am new to all this and very unfamiliar with most everything about the copter I purchased. Can you tell
me in more detail how to wire directly? I am uncertain on what the 'balance' plug is and where it is located on Y6 or is that the other connector on my battery?
  • I use led light strips from my local auto store on each arm and wire them to a balance plug. There has been no noticable change in flight time from either battery loss or added weight.

The LED's I used run on 12v normally for cars but also work fine on my vehicles from 1s to 4s. They also have multiple flash patterns which provide excellent situational awareness and can be trimmed to the length of you copters arms.
