APM 2.0.14 Flight Planning

After a year of flying my Y6, I want to try Auto missions.  The Arducopter instructions for how to do so date back to APM v1.x and I have 2.0.14 on the MAC.

I cannot get far as I cannot pick a home start point, or see anything on the right click menu other then the Guided Mode options.  This without the copter connected, which the old videos implied was not necessary.

Does anyone know of more current instructions or Videos for flight planning in APM 2.0.14?

Thanks!

Nelson

Home is set when you arm. I recommend a very simple auto flight with just 2 waypoints and not very high, maybe 10 meters. Be careful about the waypoint radius. Make sure it's not to big, try 2 or 3 meters. Make sure the distance traveled is greater then 7 meters between waypoints. One final note, I assume you have been success with altitude hold and loiter. Both need to work for auto mission to work. Think of it as stepping stones. Stabilize, altitude hold, loiter then auto missions.
    Good luck and fly safe.
    • Thanks. Alt hold and loiter have worked fine.  Though, ever since the 3.1 software on my APM 2.6, I have challenges with GPS position.  I am getting the mast to extend the GPS unit and try to get it away from interference, and will repeat the usual calibration steps.  Thus I will wait to complete that before the first AUTO mission.
