Here is something confusing to me........ My APM2 will not arm the motors until I push the reset button.

I use a 7.4v batt through a BEC to power the board. All of my esc's are opto isolated. I run a 5800mah 4s batt for the motors. I have powered the board both ways with or without the jumper through the input and output. The only way I can arm the motors is resetting the APM2 while the batteries are plugged in either by pushing the reset button or unplugging and replugging the APM2.

 Any ideas?

  • I did not have this problem until I changed my quad from + to x. I changed back to + and it worked fine again (both modes BEC powered).

Changing back to x and I tried powering from a 'dumb' usb power supply and the board still did not boot after its first boot being plugged into a PC- it seems that it needs some (any?) data on the USB port to boot correctly as when it is plugged into a computer USB it boots fine every time.

I can replicate the problem while in + mode by unplugging the battery and plugging it back in within a couple of seconds.

  • I have the same problem...  APM2 will not arm the motors... Some time I get solid blue light

Some times I get normal lights but still no arming..

This Fix works every time, for me...

Unplug the tail servo on my tri copter...   Boots fine... test motors.. plug in tail servo... go fly..

  • I just finished calibrating the esc. The motor ran after I calibrated it. Somehow, now I can't arm the APM2. Is there anything I need to do on the Mission Planner before I can use it? I followed the guide and it said something about a FLY mode switch. Where is that on APM2?

  • i have same thing .... the APM2 seems not to boot up correct until i press the Reset button.
