I've got a DSMX receiver module with a 3 wire PPM interface I want to use with an APM2.5 board. Properly jumper-ed the APM2.5 will accept and use the PPM stream from the receiver. Now the question I have is how to put the receiver in bind mode? The interface consist of 3 wires: +3.3V, ground, and the PPM stream. This receiver came with a different controller that was fully capable of putting it in bind mode without requiring any jumpers to be installed on the receiver. Does anyone here know what signalling method is used on the 3-wire interface to instruct the receiver to go to bind mode? I'm puzzled, since the PPM stream is a signal driven by the receiver for transmission to the controller. How would a command be sent from the controller to the receiver module?

Are you sure it outputs PPM? Most of the smal DSM receivers output a serial protocol?
I usually hook them up to a DSM receiver to bind then switch to the device I'm attached to.
