The thing is I crashed the other day and the battery with leads was torn off the back of the GPS. The result is that now I have to wait a few minutes for GPS fix. If someone could kindly share how the battery was mounted on originally I would be very grateful!
Additionaly, if someone could confirm that it would be enough to solder the leads to the two solder pads that would be great (I've read somewhere that I would need to solder the positive lead to the second pin of the chip but that might be true only for some other Ublox GPS because author didn't mention the specific model).
Here is the pic of my GPS where missing leads and battery can be seen:

I experienced the exact same failure with this board. It is pretty easy to fix if you are handy with a soldering iron. Soldering it back to the board fixed mine right up.
I glued the battery back to the board upside down which made it easier to access the leads. Also, there is a trace to the left of the battery pads that passed through the positive pad (the right side pad) to the bottom end of the resistor labeled "102". You will need to reconnect that trace by scraping away some of the resist with a hobby knife and soldering directly to the trace. Here is a diagram of the fix and I have also included a picture of my repaired board. The soldering is pretty hideous, but it got the job done.
Good luck!
