http://pcbmotor.com/pcbmotors-17/In the never ending quest for smaller and more accurate ways to control my camera mounts I stumbled across this device. With a possible resolution of 50,000 steps per rev. It's thin profile would fit very nicely inside a wing.

Whilst I agree it is the beginning of the end for fine control it is definitely not yet. Their performance isn't very good yet.
4Nmm = 0.004Nm = 0.566448Ozin = 0.0408kgcm on the 30mm version single sided (which is actually 42mm).
78.453Nmm = 0.078453Nm = 11.10991Ozin = 0.8kgcm Ultrafly ST-5 micro servo (9mm smaller in size)
A thing to note is that the servos run 5v while the site says the stator driver runs at 200v.
Whilst stators have been around a while its nice to see consumer development getting some action now hopefully we will see more soon. One good thing is more voltage more torque (but more noise) and these stators are silent. So wildlife photography could be much more intrusive without creating scared animals (we have to make quads silent now :D)
