ESC'S 20A X MOTOR 880KV

Dear Sirs,

I'm new to UAV's.

I ordered 4 - 880 Kvmotors and 4 - 20A ESC's on DIY Store for my quad.

The datasheet motor recommends 40A esc but I only did this after...

I have problems with the 20A ESC's?

thanks !

  • Hello, and what about props on the datasheet ?

40A surely means the motors have a certain output power, like 500W so they recommend a 40A,

just to exploit all the output.

If you use a very large prop with high pitch, the 20A will surely have problems and will overheat.

But if you use tiny props or with less pitch, it should work, or maybe still not ...

Your question is not easy to respond.

It depends on lots of parameters : props and even batteries used.

A higher voltage needs less amps at same power output.

If you want to try your 20 ESC, just try and check the temperature during flight on motor and escs

to make sure there is no problem. Overheating is the only problem you can have with "low amps" ESC, i think ...

    ;)
