flight in stable mode

My quadcopter seems stable at upto 0.5m but when i give more throttle its very touchy and over 1m its drifting a bit, also it seems like it just gets more and more height and that it either goes down or up. Is this normal so you just have to practice on using the throttle stick?

I have not connected the gps yet because the first time i tried to fly inside but today i tried outside. Does having the gps connected help on stable mode if your outside and the gps has a link? I'd guess it only helps in gps mode but maybe stable mode use the gps info for something smart to make it more stable?

    what code are you running?

In general you need to "manage" the throttle stick a lot more with quads. That's why most people use proportional on the the throttle stick, to avoid over-correction. Once you connect your GPS you can have the software manage the altitude for you, and the throttle stick is just used to change altitude.

  • p.s no magnetometer connected either.
