Good First Time UAVs

hey yall,

i need help with making my first UAV. i have almost no clue how. i have some experience with rc planes and i can fly those rather well...now i want to move on to UAVs. what's a good plane for a first UAV?

  • hmm...I like your idea for the hawk sky, but I think I'm gonna have to go with the easystar. As you mentioned in your article about the hawksky, the easystar has better stability and can handle crashes better. thanks anyway

    Almost any cheap indestructible trainers( made of EPO or elapor foam) would do. I used hobbico nexstar .which is fairly good for the job and I enjoyed it. but space is premium inside small models. easystar clones are available which are cheaper but may need little modification to get the AP inside.
  • easystar by multiplex is a very stable airframe, and ardupilot is designed for use with the Easystar. However, its on backorder pretty much everywhere
