I am in the process of setting up my xbee pro. I have not got it communicating yet, but noticed the board on the UAV side was getting very hot. I assume this is not normal, but thought I would see if anyone had the same experience.

Hmm, I have not noticed this at all, you do have an antenna connected correct? On which side is it getting hot? (as in host or pc)
I will check mine later on tonight, but I know i have handled mine right after use and have never noticed any heat. On my base station I actually tape mine between foam as a matter of fact.
