Hello,
I've just finished to built a DJI Inspire clone with an APM 2.7 flight controller. It arms perfectly but haven't had the chance to fly it for the fist time because after arming, all the motors start spinning fine and after 30 seconds or a minute one of the motors (Emax 3510 600KV), slows down or stop spinning. I need to increase throttle or move stick for roll to make it catch up with the others, but that doesn't mean that the quad it's able to fly. I wouldn't dare to fly it like that. After I disconnect and connect the battery again, the four motors work fine for a while but then the same problem persist.I'm a retired guy and building drones is my first really amazing hobby ever. Never have had a good flight because my first build quad has crashed 4 times. I don't want to crash my new homemade InspireYour help will be greatly appreciated. Can you post a log? It might be a failing ESC/motor or bad ESC end point calibration or a setup error.
You can test without getting off the ground, I do this with all new builds: on grass, in an open area, carefully throttle up to about 25-35% so the quad is just starting to "get light on the skids".
Now try to pitch forward gently, you should hear and see the rear two motors speed up and the front two slow down. Same for right roll - right motors slow down, left motors speed up. If this doesn't work exactly like this then something is wrong so don't try take off! Best to go find the problem.
Thank you Graham, I'll follow up with your advice. Firstly, I'm going to change the receiver which is a cheap one, I installed that cheap one because the original AR8008 that comes with the Dx7s remote control, is installed in the other Quad copter. I'll let know what happens. By the way, what does mean "get light on the skids" I'm sorry.
