Help setting up pixhawk and ESC!

Hello Everyone, new member of DIY and first time poster. I just got my pixhawk and taranis plus x9d in (along with a bunch of stuff for a quad). I set everything up, used QGroundControl to flash firmware on the pixhawk, updated my taranis to the latest firmware, and wired everything up. I have a x8r Rx, so I can use the SBUS pins to go straight to the pixwhak RC in pins. Everything went normally (all green) in  Qgroundcontrol, but when I went to calibrate my ESCs (Turnigy Multistar, 20A), I get nothing. I cant get pixhawk to do anything. I went through the whole "process". Turned my Tx on, moved throttle to max, turned on pixhawk, turned off pixhawk, turned it on again, moved throttle to idle, and I still get nothing. Any thoughts on what I have done wrong? Thanks!

      2 arms, arm the controller with the button then by pushing yaw you arm the system for flight. As Stephen said take the quad outside so it has a better view of the sky, shouldn't take long for the gps to be fully healthy. Glad to hear you made progress.

    Do you have the arm button installed?  I believe you have to press the arm button to give power to the ESCs after you put the Pixhawk into ESC calibration mode (keeping throttle maxed).

      Yup, I have the arm button installed but pressing it does not have any impact on the escs. It makes the pixhawk beep, but the ESC stay silent. I've combed the forums for the last few days looking for an answer and so far haven't found anything :(.

        Make sure the esc wires are plugged in correctly, gnd/vcc/signal, and the escs are powered. Once the controller is powered and armed the escs should beep. The escs will provide plenty of noise when you arm and the throttle is max.

          Hi Nicholas, all the ESCs are connected appropriately. I'm using the 3dr power distribution board and have tripple checked the connections. I have even tried connecting the escs directly to the pixhawk, to no avail.

            do you have the motors connected, and of coarse no blades attached?

              Lol, yes, the motors are connected to the Escs and the props are off. I tried connecting one ESC directly to channel one on my Rx and it works just fine (like an airplane). Throttle stick controls rpm. I tried all ESC/motor combos that way to make sure they actually worked. I'm quite perplexed.

                Ok, well that helps in that your motor/esc combo works. Did you calibrate the RC remote? Try following the guide? May sound like stupid questions but sometimes the basic things escape us, just getting more details of your setup.
