Hexa/octo copter help

I'm trying to build a new multicopter for AP work, I'm thinking mostly videos but maybe pictures as well. I have some RC flying experience with my 480 heli but it can't do that things that a hex can. Here are my guidelines.

It should be able to carry a Cannon 60D (1.6 lbs.) and be stable with it.

I'm going to use Arducopter with hardware 2.0.

Basically I need help finding bodies that are suitable, I need help finding the most efficient prop/motor combo and where to buy then in the U.S.

I'd like to achieve at least 30 minute flight times with a GoPro but also be able to carry the 60D.

  • How many watts are your motors? I'm not sure if these are any good

but they look super efficient >75% at 5-15 amps, it says they can make about 30 oz of lift at 15 amps so I think most of the time they would be the butter zone but I'm not sure if I need more power than that? Does your rig have a camera? If it doesn't I assume mine would weight almost 4 Kg with the Cannon at that rate I need about 23.5 oz of lift per prop. They also have more powerful versions

  • 30 mins of flight time is going to be tough for a heavy lifter.  I have a hexa with 880KV motor running in 3s with 10" prop.  Powered by 2x 8400mAh Lipo, I get only 15 minutes of flight time with the total weight of 3.3Kg.
