How to fly 1 hour or more for a copter?

Like Amazon Prime Air, carrying something needed and fly for more than one hour.

I don't want to drop a lot of things that should be carried on the copter and make a extreme unuseful toy UAV to fly a longer time just to prove a longer flight time.

I want a practical copter which could fly a long distance and long time and carry something I need. Maybe to my mama 50km away from me.

Is there any more powerful battery with light weight and high density I could buy?

  • been done to death 8017 class motors 100kv , 120kv 26 inch props. this will give you up to 2 hours depending on how heavy your setup is power density of lipo .

      • you can find DYS Brand here special DYI drones member price , also have Iflight-RC and Tiger U8 but cost is grater!

  • few guidlines to long flighttimes:

    • super light frame, the bare minimum you can get away with
    • the lowest KV motors you can afford
    • the biggest props you can fit on the motors
    • the most energy dense batteries you can find

Even then, the record is around 1hour 29minutes by endofdays in this RCGroups thread:

you have to do the NiCad battery mod, basically wire up heaps of nicads in paralllel and series to get your voltage, then load up your frame with as many as it can handle, you need like tens of thousands of mAH.

you are never going to be able to fly 50km in a quad, just forget it. Maybe 10km, maybe, IF you do everything right.

50km is a serious journey, you would need a very efficient airframe, like an RVJet or a Cyclops EPO, and a very serious groundstation. You would be at the very limits of what you can do your control link, I strongly recommend against it, trying to go long range when you're not ready is a recipe for losing your air frame.

Have a read of this blog where he flies for 301km (in a circle):

  • No battery technology will fly a multirotor 50 km today, and then add headwind, payload, and safety margin.
Start by inventing a new battery type with higher energy density and less kg/Wh.

    • It's really awesome, thanks.
