I want to build a quad copter drone like the parrot 2.0 that I can fly with iphone and view with the camera from iphone.
But it needs to be able ot lift 2kg extra which will be a yagi antenna seperatlely.
can anyone either help put me in the right track to modify the parrot drone to lif the wiehgt or how to build one from scratch.

Ok thats sounds good. Ok where should i start. Ideally the parrot drone is perfect concept for what I want to do but it's not suitable for the application i want to use it for. I want to build something like the parrot drone but more stronger and durable. Like a the next level up so to speak. The idea of it is so I can mount a small yagi antenna on top and mount a smart phone that will be connected via external antenna port to view the signal strength off the antenna via a small camera on the drone.
the drone is simply used as a vehcile that allows me signal survey for the best mobile phone signal. easier than climbing a tower and using a cherry picker.
Is it possible to modify a adru quad copter so it can be driven via iphone app.
Would the adru quad copter be able to lift an extra 2kg 20-40m high.
What would i need to do to make these modifications. what would i need to buy?

I would recommend using traditional Tx/Rx for control and use the iPhone for FPV only, especially if your load is valuable.
A) using a screen doesn't give you the same control or feedback that sticks do.
B) Sneeze on the screen, and potentially you have lost control
C) you won't be able to see anything while you have two thumbs on it. An iPad might be better but your controls will need to small, and therefore sensitive as a result.
D) to use iPhone you'll need to use wifi - which is less reliable than traditional RX/Tx. Unless you use 3G which invokes a new hardware stack and an increase in latency.
