How to view telemetry logs after a crash

I just crashed my copter.  While trying to take off, the copter pitched backwards and yawed right.  I tried to compensate be throttling up and pitching forward, but it did not respond and flipped on its back.  I cut the throttle, but the motors kept spinning, although some of the motors had cut off at this point.  Panic, then shut off TX, motors still spinning.  Carefully, grabbed the copter and pulled the lipo.  Now, I want to know what happened.  Was it a failure in the hardware, software, or me?  How do I pull up the log to view the event in Mission Planner?  What are the steps?  And then, how do I read it? Can somehow please help?  Or maybe someone has experienced something like this?  thanks.

  • that sounds just like my first flight... almost to the word!

Not sure if MP captures the data at a fast enough rate to see what happened.

the apm has logs that will have recorded them. connect to the board then go to terminal in MP, wait for a few seconds while it connects and does its tests etc. then click the log download. once downloaded which is pretty self explanitory, click log browse and select the log you just downloaded (check the date and time)

Scroll down a bit in the log and click on the numbers to get the description of what it is.. then click 'graph this' to get the graph

Read this for a more detailed explanation --> http://code.google.com/p/arducopter/wiki/AC2_Logs
