Let's say your only limitation was that it had to be 4 feet of less in diameter.

If you could get anything you wanted, without considering cost. The objective would be the most stable, secure, and versatile video and photo platform possible, buildable from scratch.

A bonus would be something transportable (as in foldable)

To be clear, I'm not looking for anything capable of heavy lifting, performance, speed, etc; just the criteria mentioned in the previous paragraph.

1) What frame (assuming radial design, but I'm open to other suggestions) would you get, and why?

2) What ESCs & motors would you get, and why?

3) What onboard controller would you get, and why?

4) What remote (Radio) controller would you get, and why?

5) What Gimbal would you get, and why? (assuming it would carry a Sony 5100 camera)

  • I would use trex helicopter main rotors running in collective pitch.
    • Looks like that one is around $7000 without a gimbal.  IF I'm reading the price correctly.  What makes them better, in your eyes?
