Multi bladed propelers are used when you need ground clearence or less noise they are less efficient at the same rpm so you have to run them faster. why less efficient because the time befor the next blade cuts the disturbed flow from the blade infront is short and the air is less stable.

The more blades, the less efficient. Typically the only reason to use more than two blades is if you are space constrained.
Can you please explain how?According to my analogy if no. of blades increase,then more air will be pushed down.How is this wrong?
