LED night flying lights

Hello everyone.

 

i have just bought some led night flying lights that i want to put on my quadcopter.

 

the instructions say i can use my reciever battery to power them or a seperate battery at 4-6v.

 

can i connect the lead on the control unit to my reciever to power the lights, so i can flick a switch on my transmitter to turn them on or off? im not sure off the voltage @ my reciever.

    I found out by giving it a go, yes i can plug the lead into my reciever and they work. but i cant turn them on and off by a switch on the transmitter.
